How to use the standard calculator
Standard mode includes the basic operations you use most often: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It also includes percentage and positive or negative number controls.
- Enter a number using the on-screen keypad or your keyboard.
- Select the operation you want to perform.
- Enter the next number.
- Press = or Enter to calculate the result.
- Use Backspace to remove the last digit or C to clear the calculator.
How to use the scientific calculator
Switch to Scientific mode to access additional mathematical functions. The calculator includes sine, cosine, tangent, logarithms, natural logarithms, square roots, powers, reciprocals, absolute values, and the constants π and e.
Trigonometric functions use degrees. For example, sin(90) returns 1.
Keyboard shortcuts
You can operate the calculator using your keyboard as well as the on-screen buttons.
- 0–9: enter numbers
- Period: enter a decimal point
- +, −, *, /: perform basic operations
- Enter or =: calculate the result
- Backspace: remove the last digit
